Well hello there.
Hi!
Introduce yourself! Thoroughly!
I’m Dan. I was born in Manhattan, KS. I found at an early age that you can take what you love and hate about life, shape it and form it into a narrative, and try and make sense of it all. I studied film at the University of Southern California, directed/wrote/photographed several award-winning (and many non award-winning) films and projects, and connected with a cadre of beautiful muses, eccentric characters, and genuine madmen. My plans are to keep calm and carry on.
What made you want to become a part of Daily BR!NK?
The opportunity to meet and photograph people who are inspiring in some way.
Short list of your own inspirations.
David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest, the online comic Achewood, Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes, Carl Sagan’s musings about the universe, the films of Jim Jarmusch/Wes Anderson/Quentin Tarantino/Spike Jonze/David Fincher/Sofia Coppola, David Simon’s The Wire, Kazuya Tsurumaki’s FLCL, Hideaki Anno’s Evangelion, photographers Richard Avedon/Will Eggleston/Lina Scheynius, The Strokes/LCD Soundsystem, anyone who’s looking for the answer just past the obvious one.
What people would you like to connect with?
Screenwriters with stories about adolescence, bands/models/actors/artists/projects who are looking for portraits or photographic imagery, anyone who’s down to do something ambitious.
